Pelvic Health Treatment
Statistically one in three women experience urinary incontinence in their lifetime. Other data shows that pelvic organ prolapse is experienced in up to 50% of women who have had children, 60% of women who have not had children will experience significant bladder or bowel symptoms and approximately 20% of 18-50 year old women will experience chronic pelvic pain. All women at some point will go through the menopause and may experience symptoms, many dont recieve advice for how to manage their symptoms.
Our specialist practitioners can help you manage issues such as:
● Bladder dysfunction
● Pelvic floor dysfunction
● Bowel dysfunction
● Incontinence
● Pelvic pain
● Pelvic organ prolapse
● Sexual dysfunction
● Post surgery rehabilitation (e.g. after a hysterectomy)
A more detailed pre-appointment information form will be emailed to you in advance when you book your first appointment. It may be helpful to write down a list of questions in advance of your appointment and bring them with you on the day if you have particular concerns. You may wish to bring someone with you to support you and help you to feel more comfortable during your appointment.
During your initial appointment, you will discuss your medical history and any symptoms or ongoing concerns that you have. With your consent, your practitioner will conduct an internal and external pelvic and abdominal examination.
Following the assessment, your practitioner will discuss their findings and agree a treatment plan with you, the need for any future appointments will be dictated by the nature and complexity of your complaint. You will also recieve a support plan to work through at home.
